Cassava vein mosaic virus has virions, and induces the formation of cytoplasmic inclusions, that are similar to those of species in the genera Caulimovirus, “Soybean chlorotic mottle-like viruses” and “Petunia vein clearing-like viruses”, but differs from them in its genome organization.
The genome contains five ORFs organized as shown in Figure 5.
